Pearson Engineering signs LAND 400 Phase 3 Contract

Combat engineering specialist, Pearson Engineering, has been awarded a contract by Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA) for the supply of 131 combat dozer blades to be integrated with the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV) under LAND 400 Phase 3.

The contract follows the extensive risk mitigation activity (RMA) in Australia to prove the operational functionality and durability of the combat dozer blade.

Initiatives to localise the supply of the front-end equipment (FEE) are underway with the formation of a team of suppliers that will provide fabrications, hydraulic components, harnesses, assembly and testing as part of Pearson Engineering’s Australian Industrial Content (AIC) commitment.

The Combat Dozer Blade will be integrated with Redback via a Pearson Engineering Vehicle Interface Kit which is designed to accept a wide range of FEE from within Pearson Engineering’s proven range of products.

With the initial integration of the combat dozer blade made, Redback has been future-proofed with the ability to adapt according to mission-set. If operational requirements call for it, the combat dozer blade can be swapped out for a mine plough, counter-IED roller or surface clearance device without further mechanical design or intervention.

The flexible approach, inherent in all of Pearson Engineering’s designs, provides high levels of adaptability, whilst also paving the way to developing FEE manufacturing, assembly, integration and test (M-AIT) capability in-country and activating a wider localised supply chain.

Our interrogation capability is rooted in providing additional capability for Counter-IED and Route Proving operations. Our excavation capability is designed to support combat engineer operations such as digging, demolishing, removing obstacles and filling trenches to support Area Access and Area Denial.

Pearson Engineering Vehicle Integration Kit

Pearson Engineering's products are designed to provide armoured vehicles with the ability to rapidly adapt to their mission, to overcome challenges to mobility and to deny mobility and momentum for others. Pearson Engineering Recovery Capability

Pearson Engineering's recovery capability includes robust and powerful earth anchors and multi-purpose dozer blades designed to hold a vehicle static for winching operations.

Our recovery capability includes a range of dedicated and multi-purpose blades which are primarily designed to support the recovery of other vehicles and for moving of heavy obstacles. A powerful ground-engaging blade sinks into the earth to hold a vehicle static, acting as the force against which the obstacle can be pulled.
