Veterans
and
Reservists
At Pearson Engineering, we recognise the unique experience and perspective that veterans and reservists bring. Many of our employees, including several ex-service personnel, have first-hand understanding of the importance of the work we do, designing and manufacturing technology that protects lives on the battlefield and beyond.
employer recognition scheme
In 2025, our dedication to supporting the defence community was recognised once again, achieving the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme. As proud signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant, we uphold forces-friendly practices across recruitment, training and employment including additional paid leave for reservists and tailored support for those transitioning from service life into civilian engineering careers.
armed forces champions
Our Armed Forces Champions group brings together colleagues who have served in the military and share a passion for supporting veterans and the wider armed forces community. We aim to create a strong network that values the unique skills and experiences of those who have served.
military community
We’re proud to have supported a range of incredible causes, including the Veterans Futures Programme in partnership with Newcastle Rugby Foundation, LaunchPad, the Army Benevolent Fund, and Walking With The Wounded. In addition, we stand as committed supporters of Military vs Cancer, helping raise awareness and funds for those affected. These initiatives reflect our dedication to giving back to the armed forces community and making a positive impact where it matters most.
your career out of service starts with us
We actively welcome veterans and service-leavers across all parts of our business – from engineering and manufacturing to logistics and project management.
We value the leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills developed in military service and work to ensure a smooth transition into rewarding, long-term careers.
Our structured onboarding and mentoring approach helps veterans translate their operational experience into new contexts – contributing to projects that advance capability and strengthen UK and allied defence.
